Bring Your Own' - Upholstery Weekend Course

£295.00

10th - 11th May 2025

Ever wanted to try upholstery for yourself? Well now is your chance… our bespoke ‘Bring Your Own’ course offers the perfect introduction into the world of Upholstery. It’s a great way to make new friends, learn a new skill and of course enjoy some cakes and refreshments - and best of all… you get to work on your own item as a project!

Our ‘Bring Your Own’ classes are limited to 4 students, so you will have plenty of teaching time with one of our highly skilled tutors under the direction of our founder.

All sundries, materials and tools are included except for replacement foam, springs, fire retardant Calico, woollen inter-liner, any traditional fillings and the top fabric. This can be purchased whilst on the course and we can provide a rough estimate of these costs on initial inspection.

On the day, all you need to bring is your project and fabric of choice (alternatively you can purchase fabric from our large range with a 15% discount).

Our 15 hour introductory weekend course includes (clearly this depends on your project):

  • Introduction to the basics of upholstery

  • Introduction to Upholstery Tools & Workshop

  • Brief Introduction into the history of furniture

  • Stretching webbing

  • Fixing with staples

  • Attaching hessian

  • Foam cutting

  • Folding around corners and legs

  • Material / top fabric consideration

  • Anything else relevant to your own project
