Traditional Upholstery

Upholstery-126.jpg

Our favourite type of upholstery work is conducted using the traditional methods of upholstery. These date back many centuries and allow us to showcase our best craftsmanship and skills. If you select to have a traditional piece of work completed, we invite you to join us at our workshop to see first hand how we transform your chair, and if we really like you, we might even give you a traditional English afternoon cream tea…

Below are just a few examples of our recent work.

Victorian Iron back

A Victorian Iron back chair completely stripped and reupholstered using only traditional techniques. This beautiful chair has been finished in Gautier Indigo, by Clarke and Clarke.

A traditionally upholstered Balloon Back chair

A beautiful honey coloured balloon back chair upholstered in a striking fabric by Casadeco that complements the natural charm of its wood. It was found in a local antique auction house in need of some serious restoration. The entire chair has been rubbed down, re-polished and re-upholstered using only traditional methods.

A traditionally upholstered telephone seat

This was a commissioned project for a customer who wanted to transform a modern foam based item into a traditional piece of furniture.
