From dining room to Studio Workshop
It all started in the family dining, much to the frustration of my husband I converted it from a tranquil place setting where the family ate daily, to a busy, cluttered, single person workshop. I was so chuffed to have a little place where I could carry out my trade, and even better…it was out of bounds to the rest of the family - my own little haven.
Smoking hot in my little dining den…
As my customer base grew I realised that the space wasn’t big enough and therefore I was, in the margins, looking for a bigger place to work from. By chance, a lady who owned a local soft-furnishing business gave me a call and asked if I would like to meet up, mentioning that she is looking to retire soon. I did, we agreed that we would take over the workshop and the lovely picture below is Sandra and me on take over day. A very proud moment.
Now came the challenge of turning a 30year old soft-furnishing business in a Studio Upholstery Workshop during the year of COVID lockdown. It was all hands to the pumps.
